Boomkat Product Review: This second instalment in the Black Beauty Remixes EP series gets off to a fine start with original track 'Distracted' sounding like it just lost a fight with a ring modulator. The bassline sounds like it's being played on a continually deflating balloon, and the various other electronic fill sounds only serve to further spin the thing out of tune, but after about four minutes of this, it all starts to make sense. Next comes a Noze remix of 'Island (feat. Caro)', which is primed for maximum pop potential, even throwing a choir of some sorts into the bargain. Finally, Digitaline dispenses a functional microhouse groover making good use of the usual plugin-based tricks of the trade, rounding off a solid EP.
