The Subject Vertical Files of the University of Iowa Archives consist of records pertaining to the University's colleges, departments, offices and programs, as well as events and topics. The files may include, but are not limited to, newspaper articles, publications, pamphlets, announcements, special event programs and other documents.
Vertical files are news clippings, brochures, pamphlets and other documents placed in folders based on subject headings. Examples of the headings include Residential Sections, Politics and Government, Colleges and Universities, to name a few.
As with the book collection, the files cover all subjects related to the District of Columbia: social, economic, cultural, recreational, political, and historical. All subject files will be available in the Washingtoniana interim location at the Newseum, opening Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
