I think I've found the source of my IE7 lockups after installing SP3. The flash player IE add-on (9.0.124.0) doesn't play nice with SP3. If I disable the add-on the problem goes away. If I enable the add-on then closing tabs with flash content eventually locks up IE7. I've done the test 3 times with all other add-ons disabled with consistent results. I've uninstalled the flash player and reinstalled. Repeated the tests 3 times and get the same results.
