I like this game. Put a lot of hours into it. I enjoy beating a map without any banishments by the orb.

After playing the game for awhile it is obvious it is programmed to cheat. The game gives you a set amount of beginning mana. Then after beating maps it offers you a bonus of more mana on killing an enemy or less gem cost, etc. But if you actually take them up on the offer of a bonus, they steal your beginning mana! For instance.

If you have 500 mana to start a map and they offer your more mana on an enemy kill, you think 'great! It will be easier to win'. Except it won't, because if you take the bonus mana on enemy kill, you will start with 400 mana initially. I have been trying every single combination available to beat various maps without orb banishment and it is impossible. If I take the benefits from skills or talismans, even with the penalties to the beginning mana, and it looks like I am going to win? The enemies suddenly start moving at double speed.

Qbasic For Windows 8 32 Bit. If I give up the bonus to skills and talismans and start with full mana, the enemies go back to normal speed, but the map is unbeatable because of no skills and talismans. Then there is one map with an obelisk that zaps the enemies occasionally to make them double or triple powered. The thing is programmed so the more it looks like I am going to win, the more enemies the obelisk zaps to double or triple power. If I play so it looks like I am a loser and am going to lose, the obelisk only zaps one or two of the enemies to double or triple power. I like playing hard games. I enjoy challenges.

But I hate cheaters, and this game is a big time cheater. I have played the freeze map I don't know how many times. If a certain number of poison traps are put down, the enemies undeniably speed up. If the gem in one of the traps is removed, they slow down. Put the gem back in the trap, the enemies speed up again. That is cheating to my way of thinking. If the enemies can go fast, they should do it constantly.

If they only go slow, they should do it constantly. I played the map where the obelisk zaps the enemies and makes them harder. The zapping is supposedly random. I am doing well on the map, the enemies are getting close to the orb, I think I have it under control, and the obelisk, out of all the enemies on the map, zaps the one that is 1/2 an inch from the orb. That is cheating. It knows I am doing well and zaps an enemy into a super enemy in a location the computer has calculated will be impossible to kill before it hits the orb. What is the point in playing a game programmed to cheat?

Is it possible that you are in fact experiencing lag, and that the strange speedup/slowdown of he monsters can be attributed to that? Alternatively, you may just be getting thoroughly unlucky with monster speeds.

It has been shown that each wave of monsters has two different speeds with which it can spawn, and that these will differ each time you restart the field. (For example, wave 10 of a given field could be either speed 1 or 1.8.) Out of curiosity, how many fields have you cleared, and what is your wizard level?

@Happeh according to what you wrote here there is a very simple reason for your problems or your conclusion. You dont understand the game!!!! You wonder about things which are just part of the regular mechanics and can all be countered with other ingame mechanics. Other things present a challenge which can be overcome by the right gem combination, awarness, use of pause and generally using the tools you get. That you obviously have a low thresthold for frustration doesnt make the 'programmed to cheat'. It means that you are not willing to learn or put any effort into a game that can be played perfectly fine without hacking. Harsh judgement?
